About Neville & Michael
Artists, gardeners, bee keepers, nature lovers, carpenters, hikers, massage therapists, writers and dreamers
Neville and Michael moved to Wood's Hole to continue Neville's grandparent's legend of operating Wood's Hole Hostel. Neville & Michael's dream is to build a small educational and holistic retreat for hikers, guests, and those dreaming to get closer to nature.
Neville is the granddaughter of Tillie & Roy Wood. She has been coming to Wood's Hole since she was five (1983). She watched her grandparents add on to the 1880's log cabin, building a kitchen and a bunkhouse with the spare logs. Before the bunkhouse was a hostel, it was her sister and cousins play house.
Neville and her grandmother formed a close bond over the years. For the last two years that Tillie came to the cabin, Neville assisted her grandmother full time in operating the hostel. She found her self reconnecting to life and nature on her visits to Wood's Hole.
Michael met Neville on his thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail on July 6, 2005 at Wood's Hole. Wood's Hole has been a source of love for the two. Not only did they meet here, fall in love here, propose to each other here.. they also married here on August, 1 2009.... and now they live here.
Neville & Michael are Nationally and State licensed massage therapists practicing at the hostel. They are currently working on their Yoga Teacher Certification with Anna Pittman, www.thebreathingspace.org
Neville completed a Masters in Art Education at North Georgia College & State University and an Undergraduate Degree from The University of Georgia in Art.
Michael has his Undergraduate Degree in Biochemistry from Penn State and underwent graduate studies at Harvard University & Northeastern University in Boston. He completed a three year intensive rhythm therapy training with Reinhard & Cornelia Flatischler and is a Certified TaKeTiNa Teacher, www.taketina.com.
Neville & Michael opened the hostel full time in April 2009. They offer massage therapy, daily yoga, family style meals, and organic gardening.
Plans are to expand the potential of Woods Hole through small and intimate workshops & healing arts retreats. "Our goal is to create a holistic environment: A sustainable community where artistic, musical, natural, and healthy creativity is possible."
